SPIN is a voluntary organisation set up in 2005 to provide information to single parent families and operates in Brighton & Hove & surrounding areas of Sussex. Information is provided proactively via regular postings on our facebook group SPINChat. Members can talk to each other and ask for advice and information too.
Information is posted regularly on events, activities, training, jobs, free donations, free tickets. In 2022 SPIN ran a van/funding scheme to help SPIN members move house, collect items bought on FB and dispose of unwanted items to tips. This has been very successful to help particularly those members who dont have access to a vehicle. SPIN is rerunning this project in April 2025.
SPIN has facilitated tickets to the Dome and to pantomimes. There have been referrals for grocery and energy vouchers, donated makeup and toileteries plus takeaway coffee cups, socks, a huge donation of Neom hand & body wash and members were invited to submit requests for Christmas presents for their children and these were supplied by Pelican Parcels with a contribution from SPIN for the parent. SPIN also worked with Dunelm to provide gifts for the single parents.
